Positions through Patricia White's are both live in and live out work in London and throughout the UK.
Our live in positions are usually for 6 - 8 weeks at a time and carers will work 6 or 7 days a week. When a carer has a day off it is a 12 hour day and carers may not have a night off while they are in a position, so while you are living in you never need to worry about accomodation. Our living in positions are paid a flat rate of £68.00 per day with additional fees for Bank and Public Holidays. Living in with a client is a good way to save money with free accomodation, meals and a roof over your head - however it is a commitment. |

It is not essential for you to have medical qualifications to work through Personal Home Care but a number of things will make it easier for us to find placements for you. If you are applying for work from outside the EU then you must have a valid visa and work permit, unfortunately we cannot help anybody who is traveling on a student visa. Click here to go to our New To London page for more information on Visas.
Many of our clients prefer to have a driver and therefore a current valid driving license is important to have, but not essential. Again, go to our New To London page for more information on driving in the UK. If you do have caring, first aid or nursing qualifications then it is easier for us to find placements for you and we would love to hear from you. |

Having a police clearance check from your own country is helpful but we will have to apply for a British CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check for you. It is now mandatory for all carers to have a British police check. We will give you the relevant application forms when you come for your interview but you will need to bring documentation to prove your address (A utility bill, mobile phone bill or bank statement). Click here to go to the CRB website for more details. If you are working through Personal Home Care you will be paid by cheque and will, therefore, have to have a UK bank account. It can sometimes be difficult to open a new bank account in England if you have just arrived. We recommend 1st Contact to help you open an account. Go to our New To London page for information on this and other useful tips. Click Here |
